Varsity Soccer, Chadwick International School

September 2021 ~ Present

I have played soccer for Chadwick International Middle School since 7th grade, and I started out and still am a goalkeeper. I was a varsity soccer goalkeeper at Chadwick International Upper School, performing the critical function of commanding in the back, organizing defenses, and being in high focus, communication, and quick decision-making under pressure. I led the defensive line and made key saves that, over multiple seasons, helped my team secure 2nd and 3rd place finishes at national tournaments hosted by KAIAC. All of this helped make me more resilient and helped my teamwork and leadership on the field.

JV Basketball, Chadwick International School

September 2021 ~ December 2024

As the point guard for my Junior Varsity basketball team from grades 9 through 11, I developed leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Being responsible for directing the game on the court, I learned to stay calm under pressure and coordinate strategies with my teammates. These experiences strengthened my ability to work within a team, balance competing priorities, and make quick decisions, which are qualities I apply in all aspects of my academic and extracurricular pursuits. 

Taekwondo

August 2012 ~ Present

I have been doing Tae Kwon Do since I was seven, and I got my level 4 back belt a very long way from then on by being dedicated, disciplined, and persevering. This is where I learned about the culture behind Taekwondo- what it means to have respect and discipline for myself and others as well. It has also made me realize the importance of long-term goal setting and how planning is equally crucial in my academic and non-academic pursuits. Everything I have learned in the realm of perseverance and mental toughness has pretty much originated from Taekwondo, and that is a large part of why it remains such an essential aspect of my life, and also as how it factors into whatever leadership roles or personal growth innovations companies desire me to implement.
